COACH AND PROGRAM

For four years -- or 40, if you poll opposing Southeastern Conference coaches -- Matt Jones terrorized defenses all around the league.

Suddenly, Jones is gone to the NFL's Jacksonville Jaguars to catch passes from Byron Leftwich and abuse professional cornerbacks.

It just won't be the same without No. 9 improvising from his quarterback spot for the Arkansas Razorbacks.

Speaking of change, Reggie Herring was brought in to coach the Hogs' defense. Like his predecessors, John Thompson and Dave Wommack, Herring likes an aggressive, blitzing style of play. Herring emphasizes speed, speed and more speed, and that led to a spring full of change on the defensive side of the ball in Fayetteville.
