COACH AND PROGRAM

There are three football stories at the University of Central Florida.

The first comes as no surprise to anyone who believes in the karma police -- that George O'Leary's first year back in college football after his resume scandal was uncovered produced the first winless season of his career.

O'Leary took over for deposed Mike Kruczek in December 2003, and after much self-imposed attrition the Golden Knights went 0-11 in the last of their three seasons in the Mid-American Conference.

The second story is that the Knights begin their first all-sports relationship with a single conference. Unfortunately for them, they'll take a 15-game losing streak into 2005, their first year in Conference USA. It is the longest current losing streak in Division I-A.
