Northwestern is known more for producing actors and writers than tailbacks and linebackers, but Randy Walker is working to change that.

Northwestern coach Randy Walker didn't lose his voice -- or his sanity -- during a recent spring practice. But he came close.

Walker would have registered a 10 on the ballistic scale after watching his players sleepwalk through drills.

"We forgot how to break the huddle," Walker said incredulously. "We had to do it 200 times to run 50 plays."
