For fans of Texas A&M football, there are three things that really, truly matter each fall: • Having a winning season. • Going to a desirable bowl game. • Beating Texas. But not necessarily in that order. Having done each of those three things last year for the first time since 1999, (the last year A&M beat the rival Longhorns -- which tops the list for most hard-core Aggies) the question now becomes, what next? The answer? Quite simple. A return to national prominence and a position among the top 10 teams in the country, something that, not that long ago, was as much a part of Aggie tradition as midnight yell practice and dunking your class ring in a pitcher of Shiner Bock at the Dixie Chicken. After all, that's why head coach Dennis Franchione was brought to College Station back in 2003.
