COACH AND PROGRAM

The pessimist sees four victories and thinks bad things. The optimist notices the three-win increase from the previous season and dreams of future improvement. The pessimist looks at a schedule that includes nonconference games against Iowa, Washington and Illinois and wonders if there is any chance for growth this year. The optimist thinks of the opportunities that abound when games are played against rivals from power conferences.
