The patience meter won't take long to enter the danger zone if Michigan State starts slowly against visiting Illinois. Spartans fans are ready to pounce on head coach John L. Smith after MSU squandered a 16-point lead in the last nine minutes in a 40-37 loss to Notre Dame.
