COACH AND PROGRAM
The only drawback to creating lofty expectations is producing the expected results. While fourth-year UCLA coach Karl Dorrell said all the right things last season, about his team being able to compete with anyone in the Pac-10 and the program taking the next step, it's unlikely that many expected the Bruins to be playing for a share of the conference title in December. Turns out Dorrell's preseason comments were close to being dead on.
