Mr. Scrooge and the Grinch had nothing on Phillip Fulmer last Christmas. The Tennessee football coach was miserable, and no amount of holiday cheer could bring him around. There was good reason for Fulmer's bah humbug blues. For the first time in 13 years, Fulmer found himself with nothing to do -- on the field at least -- in December. A 2005 season that began with the Vols as a consensus top-five team had deteriorated into a 5-6 debacle, typified by a bitter home field loss to Vanderbilt in the second-to-last game.
