The Blue Ribbon College Football Yearbook previews the 2006 Florida State Seminoles.
COACH AND PROGRAM
As Bobby Bowden finished off his big 4-0 -- that's 40 years of being a college football head coach, 30 of them at Florida State -- it's hard to say if we should be impressed that he was able to win another ACC Championship or if we should be writing off Bowden and his Seminoles as just another mediocre member of the ACC's Atlantic Division. Admittedly, the latter would be a monumentally stupid mistake, consider the track record of Bowden, who was elected in May to the College Football Hall of Fame. But there is no doubt the Seminoles have been much more fallible over the last five years than at any time of Bowden's 30 years in Tallahassee. Since 2001, the Seminoles have averaged just 8.8 wins per season.
