Can anybody turn the Duke football program around? Ted Roof is the fourth coach to try his hand at reviving the once-proud Blue Devils since Steve Spurrier guided Duke to a share of the ACC championship in 1989. After that memorable year, Barry Wilson (four seasons), Fred Goldsmith (five seasons), Carl Franks (four and a half seasons) and now Roof (two and a half seasons) have coached a combined 16 seasons and just once managed to win more than four games in any of them.
