Baylor
Coach Guy Morriss waffled on naming a starting quarterback late in the season, switching from Terrance Parks to Shawn Bell on several occasions. The Bears' lack of offensive production cost them dearly as they fell just short of making their first bowl appearance since 1995.

Baylor's defense gave it a chance to stay in most conference games, but the struggling offense kept the hard-luck Bears (5-6) from sneaking out with victories in tough road overtime losses at Oklahoma and Texas A&M. Morriss will be lamenting what could have been in both games all winter long.
