Ohio State-Michigan highlights rivalry week

This is a major rivalry week in college football with the Ohio State-Michigan and Alabama-Auburn games leading the pack. The Buckeyes are trying to make it four out of five for coach Jim Tressel against Michigan and we think they will accomplish it. Alabama seems like it will have its hands full trying to match Auburn's talent and also trying to recover from the emotional blow of last week's devastating loss to LSU.

Elsewhere, Virginia has an excellent chance to upend Virginia Tech, giving the Hokies its second straight loss. And on the West Coast, Stanford has an excellent chance to upset Cal. In other rivalry games both Utah (vs. BYU) and Oregon State (vs. Oregon) have lost their starting quarterbacks due to injuries.

Sunday

Houston - 3 vs. Southern Mississippi: This is a makeup game which comes under the radar on a Sunday night, in order to accommodate Southern Miss, which just played five days ago, and will have to play again next Saturday. This is also the fourth straight road game for the Golden Eagles who need another win to be bowl eligible. The schedule has to be wearing them down.
