ACC looking to rebound; Stanford, Georgia Tech, BYU looking for respect

Here's a quick look at some of the biggest story lines Scouts Inc. is watching in Week 2:

• The Atlantic Coast Conference got off to a rough start last weekend when Alabama embarrassed a Clemson team that had high hopes and Virginia Tech lost 27-22 to East Carolina on a blocked punt that was returned for a touchdown. Maryland beating Football Championship Subdivision opponent Delaware, which had to replace 2008 NFL first-round pick QB Joe Flacco, by just seven points is disconcerting as well. But unranked Miami could redeem the ACC and restore some of the former Hurricane swagger with a win against No. 5 Florida in the Swamp on Saturday night. Though the Hurricanes are understandably heavy underdogs, that could play right into their hands. With talented redshirt freshman Robert Marve making his first start and no one expecting a win, Miami has nothing to lose by playing free and loose. That makes the Hurricanes that much more dangerous, in our opinion. In addition, they have the athletes and team speed along the defensive front seven to exploit a Gators offensive line that had some problems protecting QB Tim Tebow against Hawaii last week.

• Speaking of the Miami-Florida game, Florida WR/RB Percy Harvin is scheduled to make his season debut after sitting out the opener following offseason heel surgery. It will be interesting to see how much Harvin plays, how he reacts to his first real test since the surgery and whether he's able to stay healthy for this game and beyond. And don't be fooled by Tebow's 9-for-14 passing performance last week. There are still several concerns about the Florida passing attack, including that shaky offensive line and a lack of proven playmakers. If the Gators are going to make a national championship run, Harvin has got to stay healthy and help stabilize the passing game.
