1. Michigan QB Denard Robinson
Michigan coach Rich Rodriguez's spread attack is only as good as its trigger man, and Robinson appears to be his next great one. The sophomore completed 19 of 22 passes for 186 yards and carried the ball 29 times for another 197 yards. That's 383 of the Wolverines' 473 offensive yards, which isn't too bad considering Robinson wasn't even certain he would be the starter 24 hours before kickoff. It also should be noted that while most top performers were racking up gaudy stats versus inferior competition, Robinson did his work against a Connecticut defense with eight returning starters from a year ago. The challenge for Rodriguez this week is to keep his young quarterback grounded and focused while preparing for a challenging trip to Notre Dame on Saturday.
