Ingram churned out 246 yards versus the typically stout South Carolina defense, a single-game Bryant-Denny Stadium record. The bruising sophomore wore down the Gamecocks, with nearly 120 of those rushing yards coming after initial contact. Ingram's relentless effort allowed Alabama to overcome an otherwise stagnant offensive showing for the second consecutive outing.
