Abbate capped off a tremendous junior campaign with a dominant showing in the ACC championship game. The junior middle linebacker notched 15 total tackles in Wake Forest's 9-6 win over Georgia Tech. Abbate headlined a Demon Deacons unit that smothered the Yellow Jackets throughout the rain-soaked defensive tussle. The win gave Wake Forest its first conference title since 1970 and sends coach Jim Grobe's squad BCS bowling in the FedEx Orange Bowl on Jan. 2.

Douglas' effort, on the other hand, was above and beyond. The junior wideout turned in a career-high 149 receiving yards and two touchdowns. The win, coupled with Rutgers' loss at West Virginia, earned Louisville the right to play in a BCS bowl (Orange Bowl vs. Wake Forest).
