Edwards continuing explosive play

Friday's game in the Division I-AA ranks between No. 2 Appalachian State and No. 3 Wofford certainly didn't lack for offensive firepower in the early going. The two teams combined for 35 points in the first 15 minutes, with Appalachian State leading 21-14 at the end of the first quarter. After putting up another 21 points in the second quarter, while managing to keep Wofford off the scoreboard, the Mountaineers went into halftime with a commanding 42-14 lead. They would go on to a 70-24 victory. Once again leading the charge was dynamic QB Armanti Edwards. The 6-foot, 184-pound junior connected on 17 of 19 passes for a career-high 367 yards with five touchdowns and zero interceptions. He also had 73 yards and a touchdown on the ground.
