After blowing a 17-3 lead in the second half the previous week to Virginia Tech and in the process losing their starting QB to injury, Butch Davis' North Carolina Tar Heels had a real challenge on their hands as they headed down to Miami to face the Hurricanes.

Down 17-7 at the half, Davis' troops showed resiliency and determination the rest of the way, coming from behind and hanging on for a hard-fought 28-24 victory.
