OU's players needed to see Stoops' public reaction

Oklahoma's loud complaints about the instant replay issues are warranted, but it's time to refocus on the task at hand, writes Craig James.

Here it is midweek and we're still talking at length about the blown instant replay calls from various games last weekend.

And at the top of the gripe list are the Oklahoma Sooners. I said it last Saturday night and I'll say it again: It was a blown call that favored Oregon and the Sooners' impressive showing at Oregon was wasted.

But now it's time for the Sooners to move on. Coach Bob Stoops has done the right thing by making such a big deal out of this. Why? Because it is a big deal, and an even bigger deal to his team. The Sooners players needed to see Stoops out front leading the charge against the blown calls last weekend. If Stoops had taken the quiet and behind-the-scenes approach with this issue (being politically correct), his team would have wondered what in the heck he was doing. Instead, the Sooners players have seen their leader deal with it publicly, with full emotions, and with total disregard to being punished by "officials" for his actions.
