Big Ten takes center stage Saturday

It was great to be at an SEC game in Tuscaloosa, Ala., last week. The Quad was filled with tents as far as the eye could see. It was a festive atmosphere culminating in a great football game that needed overtime to be decided.

Attending the LSU-Alabama game, and watching Florida-South Carolina and Steve Spurrier knock off his former Gators team, and then seeing Auburn convert on fourth-and-10 to beat Georgia on the road ... the day was another reminder of why I love the SEC so much. It's such a festival-like atmosphere: tailgating as good as you will see along with the most rabid fans -- as a conference -- from top to bottom. Not to mention the brand of football the SEC plays.
