It's time to throw a flag on officials for overzealously calling celebration penalties -- particularly when a game is hanging in the balance. It's time to rewrite the rule or remind officials how to use their discretion properly and not throw the flag.

Saturday's Vanderbilt-Florida game brought this issue into focus once again. As noted by my good friend and colleague Rece Davis on GameDay Final Extra, an official made a terrible late-game celebration penalty call that might have cost Vandy a chance to win in regulation. Florida won 49-42 in double overtime. Let's revisit the situation:
