Picks: Florida continues run; Michigan hangs on

The Gators, who have found balance at QB and an efficient offensive line, seem to be riding one of those team-of-destiny vibes, writes Bruce Feldman.

I'm coming off a dismal week, going 6-8-1 against the line. In review, the good: picking Cal to beat Oregon. The bad: picking FSU to beat NC State. And the ugly: picking Purdue to keep it close against Iowa.

For the season: 46-40-5

This week's guesses:

Boston College 24, No. 22 Virginia Tech 14: Last season, every Eagle, save for perhaps Brian Toal, looked -- and played -- like they were intimidated by a night game at Lane Stadium. This Hokies defense isn't as physical or as nasty as that one and the game being played in Chestnut Hill is a huge difference -- especially since Eagles QB Matt Ryan has really blossomed. Look for BC's steady O-line (six sacks allowed in five games) to be up to the Va. Tech challenge.
