Oregon at Stanford

Two high-powered offenses will face off when Oregon heads to Stanford in Week 11.

Oregon offense vs. Stanford defense
• Oregon finally appears healthy on offense. QB Darron Thomas is back to his old form after a knee injury, and RB LaMichael James returned from an elbow injury this past week, and that's good news for the running game. The Cardinal have been stout against the run this season but will face a different animal against the Ducks' potent zone-read attack. Oregon will spread the field with multiple-receiver sets and stretch the Stanford defense horizontally to create running lanes. Cardinal OLBs Chase Thomas and Trent Murphy set the edge well in the run game, but they will have to play with great discipline and get a thorough read on Thomas and his intentions. Stanford's edge defenders were too quick to collapse on James and fellow RB Kenjon Barner in last season's meeting, which allowed Thomas to keep the ball and pick up yards to the outside. And although the Oregon offensive line isn't a dominating group, the linemen do a good job of covering up defenders in zone blocking and allowing James and Barner to use their top-notch burst to squeeze through alleys.
