Tennessee at Florida

Tennessee takes a balanced offense on the road to face an athletic Florida defense in Week 3.

Tennessee offense vs. Florida defense
• Volunteers RB Tauren Poole is an instinctive runner with good patience, power and quickness, but the Gators held him to just 27 rushing yards last season, and they're capable of limiting his production on the ground again this time around. Florida's defensive tackle rotation of Jaye Howard, Dominique Easley and Omar Hunter can hold up against Tennessee's interior offensive linemen, while LBs Jelani Jenkins and Michael Taylor fly to the ball when they read run. Tennessee can try to turn the Gators' aggressiveness against them with misdirection, motioning WR Da'Rick Rogers or an H-back into the backfield, then running a speed sweep or faking the sweep before handing off inside. If Florida's speed derails even misdirection plays, offensive coordinator Jim Chaney can supplement the running game with quick hitters and screen passes to Rogers, who is dangerous with the ball in space.
