Florida vs. Penn State

Penn State will face a big challenge against the team speed of Florida in the Outback Bowl.

Florida offense vs. Penn State defense
• For the first time in a long time, Florida is expected to have its full complement of running backs healthy and available. Mike Gillislee and Emmanuel Moody have shown flashes, but this group is at its best when pint-sized speedsters Jeff Demps and Chris Rainey get most of the touches. Penn State's defense has struggled versus the run this season. None of its three linebackers is especially athletic, and MLB Chris Colasanti is the slowest of the group. Look for Florida to target Colasanti with inside counters on the ground and by working Demps and Rainey as receivers in his underneath-middle zone in pass coverage. Among the opponents Penn State faced this year, Michigan QB Denard Robinson bears the most resemblance to the type of quick-twitch speedsters the Nittany Lions will face in this game, and Robinson shredded them for 191 yards on 27 carries. If given enough touches, Demps and Rainey should do similar damage.
