Oklahoma at Oklahoma State

Oklahoma State's Week 12 date with Oklahoma will pit an effective Cowboys defense against a Sooners offense that has struggled in the running game.

Oklahoma offense vs. Oklahoma State defense
• The Sooners are optimistic that freshman RB Roy Finch will play after a big hit knocked him out of the Baylor game last week but the Sooners will miss him if he can't go. Finch is an excellent change-of-pace back with the burst to turn the corner and wiggle to make defenders miss in space. He can also line up in the same backfield with starter DeMarco Murray and a fullback, and Oklahoma had success running and throwing out of that formation in the red zone against Baylor. MLB Orie Lemon anchors an Oklahoma State linebacker corps that must read its keys and play sound assignment football when the Sooners line up with three backs in the game. Murray can also move to the slot when Finch lines up in the backfield, and Murray is an excellent receiver who can separate from coverage and produce after the catch. The Cowboys need to locate him and make sound adjustments to the coverage based on his alignment.
