Penn State at Ohio State

A confident Penn State team heads to Ohio State to take on a ball-hawking Buckeyes defense in Week 11.

Penn State offense vs. Ohio State defense
• Ohio State has 15 interceptions on the season and leads the nation in turnover margin, and 12 Buckeyes have notched at least one pick. Defensive coordinator Jim Heacock does not have elite speed off the edge, so he is incorporating more slanting, stunting, twisting and zone blitzing in an attempt to generate mismatches and keep opposing offensive linemen and quarterbacks guessing. That can lead to miscommunications in protection and hurried throws, and although Penn State QB Matt McGloin has thrown only one interception in three games played since becoming the starter, he and his offensive mates will be challenged mentally in protection. Assignment breakdowns will lead to pass-rushers being cut loose, and that will leave inexperienced McGloin in a position to rush things and force throws into coverage.
