Florida vs. Georgia

Florida brings a struggling offense into its Week 9 matchup with an improving Georgia team.

• The Gators hit rock-bottom offensively two weeks ago against Mississippi State, managing just seven points in the loss. Coach Urban Meyer says a major overhaul is coming and Meyer must decide whether to go with a pro-style attack tailored to the skills of QB John Brantley or stick with the spread-option game and utilize the athletic Trey Burton more often. Brantley looks like the better option this week given Georgia's recent struggles in pass defense, but no matter who is behind center the Gators have to execute better. Missed assignments, untimely drops and key turnovers have all hurt the Florida offense, and those same mistakes could be fatal against a Georgia defense has improved overall and is finally starting to settle into defensive coordinator Todd Grantham’s 3-4 scheme.
