N.C. State hosts a Florida State team looking for a bounce-back performance in Week 9.
Florida State offense vs. NC State defense
• QB Christian Ponder is coming off the worst showing of his career two weeks ago against Boston College. Ponder was erratic with both his accuracy and decision making, which led to three interceptions (including one that was returned for a touchdown). In his defense, Ponder has been dinged up this season and no injury has appeared to affect him more than one to his throwing elbow. Already lacking elite arm strength, Ponder's ability to drive the ball down the field was hampered, and he often hung balls up for grabs against the Eagles. Fortunately for Ponder, he is coming off an open week and has had extra time to heal. He will need to clean up his game and protect the ball better against the Wolfpack, because NC State's dangerous offense will make the Seminoles pay for mistakes that result in favorable field position.
