Florida State at Clemson

Florida State offense vs. Clemson defense
• QB Christian Ponder finished last week's game despite injured ribs and is expected to play this week, but whether he is limited or Florida State tries to protect him this week by limiting his carries remains to be seen. If he does not play as big a role in the running game, the read-option package won't be a big part of the game plan, but the Seminoles can compensate by getting the ball in the hands of WR Bert Reed on jet sweeps and/or reverses. Reed is a shifty open-field runner, and Clemson's defense must respect his ability to run outside when he goes in motion toward Ponder. That will help open seams between the tackles for RB Jermaine Thomas.
