Missouri offense vs. Illinois defense

Missouri averaged 42.2 points per game and scored 52 points against Illinois last year, but difference-makers QB Chase Daniel, WR Jeremy Maclin, and TE Chase Coffman have all moved on. While the losses of Maclin and Coffman are substantial, the Tigers' greatest challenge is finding a suitable replacement for Daniel. Sophomore QB Blaine Gabbert will get the first crack at trying to fill the big shoes Daniel left behind. Gabbert is bigger (6-foot-5, 240 pounds) and has a stronger arm, but it remains to be seen how well he can manage a game. With that in mind, look for Illinois co-defensive coordinators Dan Disch and Curt Mallory to vary the looks they throw at Gabbert.
