Elvis (Dumervil) is alive and well in Louisville

Defensive players dominated several games Saturday, while Vanderbilt's offense has the Commodores off to their best start in two decades.

Ohio State's A.J. Hawk and Iowa's Chad Greenway might be the best outside linebackers in the country, but Florida State's A.J. Nicholson had a performance last Saturday at Boston College that made the rest of the country take notice. Louisville's offense has scored 94 points in its first two games, but it's defensive end Elvis Dumervil who might be the Cardinals' best weapon. Looking ahead to the last Saturday in September, Oregon is hoping that its senior leadership on offense will give USC all it can handle in Eugene.

It's never too early to start thinking about the 2006 NFL draft, and each week there are new individuals worth following as the college football season heads into October. Some are potential first-round picks and others are trying to work their way into the first day of the draft.
