Notre Dame was very impressive against Pittsburgh thanks in part to the play of a senior fullback you didn't hear much about last season. This year's version of Matt Jones is part of Hal Mumme's Air Raid offense at New Mexico State. And if the first week is any indication, the Brad Smith of 2003 is back in Columbia, MO.

Each week there are players who catch my eye, guys who are eligible to enter the draft after this season. Some are household names and some performances come from guys who might not be highly rated or early round picks, but are players who came through noteworthy performances. They are off to really good starts and worth charting their progress the entire season based on the way they performed the first week.
