Clowney names Tar Heels as his leader

There's a new leader for one of the top prospects in the country, defensive end Jadeveon Clowney (Rock Hill, S.C./South Pointe).

The 6-foot-6, 240-pounder told Josh Low from ESPN affiliate TheBigSpur.com Tuesday night that North Carolina currently was out in front for his services, ahead of South Carolina and Alabama.

Clowney visited Chapel Hill for the Tar Heels' spring game a couple of weekends ago and North Carolina defensive line coach John Blake came by his school to check in on him Monday.
