PSU's retro unis not hurting recruiting
September, 8, 2011
On ESPN Recruiting Nation on Thursday, colleagues Dave Hooker and Tom VanHaaren are discussing the impact the increasingly jazzed up jerseys in college football have on recruiting. Maryland sent Twitter into a frenzy Monday night with its, um interesting, jersey and helmet combination, and Boise State and Georgia followed Oregon's footsteps by bringing out new jerseys and helmets for their primetime showdown. This week, Michigan will change up its jerseys for its night game against Notre Dame, and, for the first time since the late 1960s, will have player numbers on the famous winged helmets. Not every team is going the route of Oregon and Maryland during college football's fashionista era. In fact, Penn State has even made its jerseys more dull and more plain, eliminating colors and design instead of adding them.
