Penn State's hot summer continued Wednesday when Cheshire (Conn.) Academy three-star athlete Malik Golden committed to the Nittany Lions, becoming the program's 17th commitment. Golden, who will play cornerback at Penn State, picked the Nittany Lions over Boston College, Connecticut and Iowa. With 17 commitments, the Lions already have more commitments than they had in their 2011 class, although the Nittany Lions didn't have many scholarships to give out last class. The summer could not have gone better for the Lions, especially considering how bad the recruiting outlook appeared this time a year ago when the Lions had just four commits heading into November and many questioned whether coach Joe Paterno would even make it through the 2010 season.
