Wins are more important than records
Five-star running back Johnathan Gray of defending Class 4A Division II Texas state champion Aledo set the Texas career touchdowns record with a four-touchdown night against Fab 50 team Lake Travis -- the defending Class 4A Division I Texas state champ -- on Friday. Gray, however, didn't celebrate much, as Aledo took a 62-35 loss to Lake Travis. Gray, who now has 148 career scores, said his team must quickly regroup and readjust for the rest of the season if it wants to have a chance to repeat as a state champion.
