Tray Matthews always knew he'd be a Dawg

August, 15, 2011
Georgia picked up its fourth commitment for the 2013 class over the weekend as safety Tray Matthews (Newnan, Ga./Newnan) committed to the Dawgs over the Crimson Tide.

"I committed to Georgia on Saturday," Matthews said. "I grew up a UGA fan. The coaches treated me like part of the family already. There is an intensity at Georgia and I love the atmosphere surrounding the program. The way they use their secondary I think I will fit in well. I will be able to roam free and blitz the quarterback. It's their strong safety position but it will also depend on down and distance."

Matthews, 6-foot-1 and 193 pounds, had known for a long time that Athens was where he always wanted to spend his college career. But Alabama came calling and they made him really think long and hard about this decision.
