Penn State won a major recruiting battle Thursday morning when one of the top in-state recruits, Deion Barnes (Philadelphia, Pa./Northeast), committed to the Nittany Lions over Georgia. "Penn State was just the perfect fit for him," Northeast coach Christopher Riley said. "It just clicked for him. He's very fast and very athletic and has lots of room to grow into that body of his. Right now he's close to 6-foot-5 and 230 pounds." The three-star prospect is part of a special aero-space program at Northeast High School, which is heavily weighted in science.
