Three-star RB Marquis Sumler (Pensacola, Fla./Pensacola Catholic) committed to Vanderbilt days before word came the Commodores would be looking for a new coach.
"Actually, I committed to Vandy on Thanksgiving. It seemed like a good day for it," Sumler said, who committed to Vanderbilt over Southern Miss. "I like everything about them. Plus they have good academics, great coaches, a wonderful atmosphere and fans."
So does Caldwell's departure affect his decision?
