The Clemson Tigers continue their assault in the Sunshine State. Earlier today, coach Dabo Swinney and his Tigers landed one of the state's elite prospects in four-star wide receiver Sammy Watkins. Watkins, from South Fort Myers High School, committed to Clemson over Michigan, Florida and Alabama.

"Yes, Sammy committed today. He committed around 11 a.m. this morning," said South coach Grant Readhead. "Sammy just really felt at home at Clemson with the players and coaching staff that he had met this summer. There were a lot of kids there that were just like him. His parents liked it too. Sammy is not a guy that loves the big city and limelight. He felt Clemson was the perfect place for him."

Watkins, 6-foot-1 and 185 pounds, is a No. 40 in the ESPNU 150 and the nation's No. 4 ranked wideout. His older brother, Jaylen, is a true freshman playing for the University of Florida.
