LaMichael Fanning off his team

One of the nation's top defensive line prospects will no longer be playing high school football. LaMichael Fanning, a four-star defensive end from Hamilton (Ga.) Harris County, is no longer with his football team. "That is correct," said Bryce Robinson, Harris County's athletic director. "LaMichael Fanning is no longer with our team. He made the choice." Fanning, 6-foot-6 and 285 pounds, is a member of the ESPNU 150 and the No. 16 defensive end in the nation. He spent his freshman season at Harris County High School before spending the next two seasons at Auburn (Ala.) High School before transferring back to Harris County before his senior season. Last April, Manning committed to the Alabama Crimson Tide. It is unknown at this time as to whether this affects his commitment there.
