Michigan State coach Mark Dantonio is off to a very good start recruiting his home state. He has already picked up commitments from three of the top prospects in the state of Michigan, including the No. 1 prospect, linebacker Lawrence Thomas (Detroit/Renaissance). The ESPNU 150 Watch List prospect picked Michigan State over scholarship offers from Michigan, Ohio State, Oklahoma, Alabama, Florida and Notre Dame, among many others. Dantonio also has commitments from running back Onaje Miller (Lansing, Mich./Sexton) and defensive back/linebacker Taiwan Jones (New Baltimore, Mich./Anchor Bay). Miller selected Michigan State over scholarship offers from Michigan, Wisconsin and Central Michigan, while Jones picked the Spartans over offers from Indiana and Toledo. Thomas, Miller and Jones are all among the top 10 prospects in the state of Michigan.
