On the surface it shouldn't be a surprise that talented athlete David Perkins (South Bend, Ind./Washington) committed to the program that most people identify with his hometown Notre Dame.
But playing for the Irish wasn't the first choice for the 6-foot-1, 210-pounder.
"Originally I was planning on going to the Pac-12 or the SEC," Perkins said. "Notre Dame wasn't really in play."
