The only thing that kept quarterback Nick Patti (Orlando, Fla./Dr. Phillips) from having a perfect junior season was the ending.
Despite putting up impressive numbers and leading a talented, senior-laden squad on a 14-game winning streak, Patti can't help but think about a 42-27 loss to Miami Central in the Class 6A State finals and what might have been.
"Hopefully my senior year will end a little better than the junior year did, maybe we can get that last one," Patti said. "But it was a great run and I had great teammates. I learned a lot about leadership and I grew up a lot. Even in the loss to Central I learned a lot about myself and how close we were as a team."
