Wide receiver Ruben Gonzalez (Tampa, Fla./Robinson) made his big play stand up in a playoff victory against rival Jesuit (Tampa, Fla.). A first-quarter touchdown helped Robinson earn a 21-7 victory but where Gonzalez really earned his stripes was on the defensive side of the ball. "Ruben is one of the guys I lean on and he just makes plays whenever you need him to," coach Mike DePue said. "Tonight we mostly needed him to play defense and block downfield. He did both." Gonzalez, 6-foot-1, 180 pound, is probably going to play offense full time at the next level and over recent months he's been pretty quiet about his future plans. With offers from Purdue, South Florida, Minnesota, Iowa State, Florida International and others, there are plenty of options.
