PORTLAND, Ore. -- Thursday is the start of the two-day Nike 7ON tournament.
This year's participating teams include Florida schools Northwestern (Miami), Plant (Tampa) and Dr. Phillips (Orlando). Other schools include Butler (Mathews, N.C.), Martin (Arlington, Texas), Glenville (Cleveland, Ohio), Gardena (Gardena, Calif.) and Guyer (Denton, Texas).
Defending champion Northwestern is led by quarterback Teddy Bridgewater (Miami/Miami Northwestern), who got in a good warmup for this tournament by leading his South Florida Express team to a championship at the Badger Nationals 7-on-7 in Tuscaloosa, Ala. last weekend.
