Linebacker Kent Turene (Lauderdale Lakes, Fla./Boyd Anderson) has been on Lane Kiffin's radar for over a year now, so it shouldn't have been a shock when the rising senior committed to Southern Cal this weekend.
Turene, who had also considered Florida, Georgia, Tennessee and Alabama, was always drawn in by the Trojans and their coaching staff.
"It's a great situation to walk into and be coached by Monte Kiffin," Turene said. "He's probably the best NFL defensive coordinator of all time. And then my position coach Joe Barry is another great NFL coach.
