When four-star running back Jameel Poteat (Harrisburg, Pa./Bishop McDevitt) announced on Wednesday that he committed to Pitt over Florida, Cincinnati, Iowa, Rutgers, Connecticut, Tennessee and Notre Dame, Poteat became commitment No. 11 for the Panthers. Poteat also became the fourth in-state prospect to commit to Pitt coach Dave Wannstedt. Poteat joins linebacker Ben Kline (Dallastown, Pa./Dallastown), offensive lineman Artie Rowell (Harrisburg, Pa./Central Dauphin) and defensive back Lafayette Pitts (Pittsburgh, Pa./Woodland Hills) as Panther commitments. The 5-foot-11 and 200-pound Poteat rushed for 1,664 yards and scored 24 times in leading Bishop McDevitt to a 12-1 record during his junior season. All told, Poteat had scholarship offers from over 40 schools.
