Commitments continued their allegiance to North Carolina despite the sudden firing of coach Butch Davis.
"I do consider myself a UNC commit," offensive lineman John Ferranto from Burlington (N.J.) Township wrote in a Facebook message to ESPN. "I was surprised when I heard the news but I still love UNC. A couple of schools have been emailing me but as of now I am still committed."
Jacksonville (Fla.) Bolles offensive lineman Jon Heck agreed.
